3/31
Today is arguably one of the greatest days for American sports. Opening Day of the baseball season is something that some people wait for once the final out is recorded in the World Series. With such a large demand for these games of course there is going to be media coverage of this event. It started around lunch time today and ESPN has been all baseball, all opening day material since that moment. They featured 3 key games throughout the enitre day. It started the day off with opening ceremonies at the New York Yankees vs the Detroit Tigers. They continued the coverage with the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Diego Padres picking up the second game. ESPN closes their opening day coverage with a nod to last years World Series Champs, the San Francisco Giants playing the Los Angeles Dodgers. I think this whole day has come a far ways down from when baseball originally began considering it was a struggle to even get mulitiple teams in the national spotlight back in the day. Now they run a whole days worth of coverage on the greatest sports news empire to ever be built, ESPN.
